Central Bedfordshire’s location at the heart of the motorway network has contributed to the growth and development of the logistics sector. 

Almost 8000 people are employed across more than 500 companies
including major brands  Amazon, Mini-Clipper and Fed-Ex.  

We are now supporting over £200m in investment in transport improvements including the M1-A5 link road and Woodside Connection at Dunstable and Houghton Regis. This new road and motorway junction will provide fast access to the motorway network for businesses and residents and enable improvements to Dunstable Town Centre. The new East West rail route will come right through the heart of Central Bedfordshire, creating easy East/West transport links by train for the first time in 50 years.


Largest speculative warehouse development in the UK since 2008 underway at Boscombe Road Dunstable. Development of two new distribution units, each in excess of 300,000 sq ft, by ProLogis.

Central Bedfordshire is home to one of Amazon’s eight fulfilment centres in the UK. The company capitalises on the area’s transport links at Marston Vale, next to Junction 13 of the M1.
Amazon have opened second fulfillment centre in Central Bedfordshire - at Prologis Park, Dunstable in Autumn 2015.
