Gaining buy-in for environmental initiatives

Location: The Forest Centre, Marston Moretaine

Date: 25 January 2017

Time: 08.00 to 10.30

Whether you are working through the transition to ISO 14001: 2015 from the previous standard, or are looking to engage staff and management in general environmental initiatives, there are ways in which we can approach gaining buy-in from those people.

We have previously worked on values in GBN seminars, using Dr Sarah Williams’s research as a base, and how these affect our decisions relating to all areas within our lives. In this seminar, we will be giving a brief recap on what values are and how they affect our decisions and opinions. BUT, we will be going one stage further and working through examples of how to identify values through conversations with people, and how we can use these values to engage them with environmental initiatives.

We will have a brief presentation followed by discussions, exercises and workshops on how to approach staff and management and how to sell-in the environment.

For those who are new to this subject area, we would ask that you fill out a brief questionnaire in advance and read a short hand out on values. We will be recapping the subject in the seminar but will be hoping to move forward for those who have attended similar sessions.

This seminar is free to GBN members. Others are very welcome to attend at a cost of £30 + VAT per delegate.

Speaker: Dr Sarah Williams, Sustainable Business
