A decade of change
Join our annual event where we'll hear three inspirational speakers talk about how they are putting their sustainability goals into action.
“Sustainability.” You’ll have seen that word a lot recently. And, if you’ve followed the COP26 conversations and pledges, you’ll know clearly that there’s no one magic solution that shifts us from the way we live, work and travel today, to a zero-carbon, environmentally sustainable future that we pursue.
What’s clear, is that we all have a duty to ramp up the speed at which we act so when we look back from the decade to come, we see a decade where we’ve made a real, tangible difference.
During this event, we’ll walk you through the commitments SEMLEP is pursuing to support you, our area’s communities, businesses and places on the journey towards sustainable growth and prosperity.
Joining Peter Horrocks CBE, SEMLEP’s Chair and Hilary Chipping, Chief Executive will be:
- Ian Horton, Gander’s Goat, COP26 Hero of net-zero nominee who shares his business journey towards sustainability. What steps his business is taking to improve business profitability and support the environment in tandem.
- Richard Foster-Fletcher, Executive Chair at MKAI, will talk about clean and green innovation and an MK Green Tech proposal to create and strengthen a thriving green technology sector across the area.
- Jane Hamilton, Chair of the Bedford & Milton Keynes Waterway Trust, will talk about what sustainability means for places and her work creating a green corridor to link communities and creating a unique sense of identity and space.
To make the event accessible to everyone, we will be livestreaming the event. The physical event will be run in accordance with the latest COVID-19 government guidance. Please select how you would like to attend upon registration.
