Coping strategies for Net Zero Carbon Scope 3
Net Zero Carbon Scope 3 – the part that asks you to look at your supply chain – is considered by many to be a bit of a dark art.
If you supply a larger company or tender for government contracts, you will be asked how you’re working towards Net Zero Carbon at some point. Many businesses, particularly those monitoring their energy or who have an ISO 14001 Environmental Management System, will be familiar with Scopes 1 and 2. These ask you to look at the carbon emissions that you can directly or indirectly control. Easy peasy lemon squeezy. However, when it comes to adding in your supply chain emissions, you may feel as though your head will explode.
Where do you start? How far do you go – back to raw materials or just your direct suppliers? How far do your direct suppliers go? What happens if you don’t have all the information you need? What happens if they’re using different measurements? These are just a few of the questions that commonly crop up.
We’re here to help. Our pals at Energise have very kindly offered to give you a hand with unravelling Scope 3.
By attending this seminar, you will find out:
- Where to start the process
- What information you need to ask for
- How far back you need to go
- Where to find common measurements
- How to deal with your supply chain
- What you need to report and how.
The seminar is free to GBN members. Non-members are very welcome to attend at a cost of £35 per delegate to cover admin, venue and refreshments costs.
