Manor Concepts to invest one million pounds in Sandy factory upgrade
Manor Concepts has announced that its parent company, Arneg S.p.A., has approved a one million pound investment to upgrade its manufacturing and assembly operation in Sandy, Bedfordshire.
The proposed improvements to the factory will include the construction of a new assembly hall, the automation of an existing paint plant and the building of a larger showroom. It is envisaged that the work will be completed and the facilities up and running early 2016.
Mike Tucker is the managing director of Manor Concepts, he comments, “By sanctioning this level of investment Arneg, our Italian parent company, has demonstrated its ongoing commitment to expanding the Manor business in the UK.
“With larger, more modern facilities we will be in a better position to support the UK refrigeration industry, increasing our range of products and providing an improved service to both the existing Arneg distributor base as well as Manor’s current and future customers.”
Three flexible production lines will be installed inside the new assembly hall to give Manor greater capacity to manufacture and assemble the now increased range of refrigerated retail display cabinets. The production of its innovative display cabinet door solutions will be expanded and remain in the existing building.
It is intended to construct a large showroom above the assembly hall where a wide range of the company’s products can be displayed and demonstrated.
Some of the space released in the existing buildings will be utilised to re-site the current paint plant. The plant will be extended and automated, bringing it in line to support the increased capacity from manufacturing.
